In January 2017, the group of companies “Spetstyazhavtotrans” began work on the installation and assembly of large-scale heavy equipment on the universal nuclear icebreaker “Ural” LLC “Baltiysky Zavod – Shipbuilding” – two propulsion motors with a total mass of 560 tons and two tanks of metal-water protection with a mass of 275 tons for every tank.

The work was carried out with the help of the latest technology – a portal portal module type. Unlike cranes, the portal is more stable and has a wide wind range, which allows for a continuous rise, which is extremely important in the weather conditions of St. Petersburg, because temperature fluctuations provoked the icing of equipment.

Total lifting capacity of the portal is 500 tons. It is compact, all elements are out-of-the-way, assembling and preparation for operation takes 2 weeks. Its installation does not require an additional resource, which makes it in demand when upgrading equipment in factories. This modular system can be used in nuclear power, heat and power engineering, and in many other industries.

In April 2017, the last aft propulsion motor for the ice-breaker “Ural” is to be loaded.

In the spring of 2016, the company’s specialists for the first time used the innovative method of mounting large-scale heavy equipment on the head icebreaker project 22220 “Arctic”.
