The four-ton aircraft was carried by a convoy of two lowbed trucks, on which the fuselage and wings of IL-2 were stationed.

The route ran through the cities of Omsk, Petropavlovsk, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Penza and Ryazan.

3.5 thousand km were passed with an average speed of 20km/h. The escort vehicle controlled the width and height dimensions along the entire route. Concrete blocks of median barriers were dismantled in one of the route sections to provide a free cargo passage in Moscow region.
