It took OKB “Spetstyazhproekt” LLC less than 3 months to deliver 15 units of large-sized equipment (10 thousand tons) from the cargo-berth at the port of St. Petersburg to the construction site of the Heavy Residue Conversion Complex at “TAIF-NK” PSC in Nizhnekamsk.

Within the framework of this unique engineering project, the specialists of the OKB “Spetstyazhproekt” LLC refitted 4 of their own barges for Ro-Ro unloading, reconstructed a specialized berth (dock-section), built 22 km of roads, reconstructed 12 ground and underground power lines and 6 air pipelines.

The delivery of a hydrocracking reactor with a weight of 1,377.9 tons, a length of 36.6 meters and a diameter of 7.6 meters became a three-time record. Within 17 days, the ship with a gigantic cargo on board overcame a water route with a length of 2,174 km, passing the largest cities of Russia: Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, Cheboksary, and Kazan.  Unloading the cargo from the barge was carried out in a specially designed and constructed docking chamber using the Ro-Ro method.

In 2014, on October 1, by special decision of the Editorial Board of the Russian Book of Records, the automotive transportation of a hydrocracking reactor weighing 1377.9 tons was officially recognized as a national record.

“This transportation project became one of the unique engineering projects of  “Spetstyazhavtotrans” GC and an outstanding fact in history of Russian and European transportation” A. Svistunov, editor-in-chief of the Russian Book of Records.
