The second serial universal nuclear-powered icebreaker of the project 22220 “Ural”, thanks to specialists from the Spetstyazhavtotrans Group of companies and JSC “Baltiysky Zavod”, got a “heart”, in this case even two.  Complicated work on the installation of two nuclear reactors RITM-200 weighing 200 tons has been completed.

The operation performed is considered unique.  For the first time in the history of nuclear icebreaking, the loading of such equipment was carried out in the conditions of an inclined slipway.  Prior to this, the FGB was mounted on icebreakers with a floating crane.

The installation of the RHYTHM-200 PGB was carried out with the help of a modern rigging portal, which allows you to set the load in the design position with an accuracy of 1 mm, – says Pavel Gorokhov, the project manager.  – We managed to mount and configure the portal in record time – 14 working shifts, despite the fact that in this modification the design has not been used before.  For loading the reactors, all slip modules were used to implement the positioning of the load in three coordinates.  The portal reached a height of 38 meters.  The positioning of each reactor on the foundation took about 4 hours.
