On February 21 at SIBUR in Moscow the Russian-European Dialogue was held – a conference with the participation of the delegation of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC), members of the RCU Board of Directors, representatives of Russian and foreign chemical companies.

Practical aspects of international activities of the RCU and cooperation with the European Chemical Industry were the main topics of discussion.

The main objective of the conference was to develop ways of cooperation on issues relating to the development of chemical industry.

Kukushkin Igor Grigorievich, Vice President at the RCU and CEO of the “Spetstyazhtrans” presented the RC Development Road Map in Russia. The Road Map introduces goals and objectives of the projects handled by the RCU, including within the framework of the “5 stars. Leader of the chemical industry” contest.

Marco Mensink, General Director at CEFIC, that through the dialogue with CEFIC the “5 stars. Leader of the chemical industry” contest can gain an international status.

“Not only we do the prize for the best, but we also do the prize for who have become much better. So the improvement is important. It’s not only for the big, but the small ones who surprise you. So that inspired the criteria as well – an improvement factor, which surprises CEOs at a European level. We promote those who improve and those who really makes a difference”, says Mr. Mensink.

The result of the conference is a decision to draw up a Memorandum on cooperation and mutual assistance to promote Responsible Care in the world and to develop it fully in Russia and in the CIS countries.
