Specialists of OKB “Spetstyazhproekt” delivered the reactor vessel and 4 steam generators to the specialized berth in Volgodonsk. The equipment, manufactured by Atommash, is intended for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in the Republic of Bangladesh.

In May, the equipment will be loaded onto a barge, which will proceed to the port of Novorossiysk for further transportation by sea to the Republic of Bangladesh. The sea route will be about 14,000 km long.

Oversized equipment dimensions:

• VVER-1200 reactor vessel: weight – more than 347 tons, length – 1145 cm, width – 570 cm, height – 535 cm;
• Steam generator: weight – more than 333 tons, length – 1412 cm, width – 570 cm, height – 526 cm.

The total length of the road transportation – 5 km. Average speed – 2-3 km/h.

“Within the framework of this project we have been cooperating with AEM-Technologies JSC since 2015. For us this is a regular transportation. We are getting ready for the water part of transportation”, says Konstantin Domchev, head of the transportation project.
