History

1974

A research and technical committee was created to develop a transportation system for oversized and overweight industrial and energy equipment.

1976

Decree of the State Committee for Science and Technology “On providing transportation of oversized and overweight energy and other industrial equipment and organizing related research and development activities” dated November 24, 1976

1978

Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 262 “On measures for improving oversized and overweight cargo transportation”.
Special Research and Production Association (SNPO) “Spetstyazhavtotrans” was established.

1981

An agreement on transportation of oversized and overweight equipment for nuclear energy sector between the countries – members of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance

1984

By the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR the main administration for oversized and overweight cargo transportation was established in Moscow managing Spetstyazhavtotrans company in Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod).

1985

Oversized and overweight cargo was now transported not only by roads and rivers, but also by sea. First oversized freight deliveries by air.

1991

By its resolution No. 10 dated April 15 the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR ordered the RSFSR Ministry of Transport to take measures for denationalization and privatization of the state owned SNPO Spetstyazhavtotrans, as well as State Research and Development Institute of Automobile Transport (NIIAT), and for reorganizing them into public companies.

2004

Spetstyazhavtotrans started its new way with new owners. The top management was chosen at the shareholder meeting.

2007

“Spetstyazhavtotrans” group of companies was created. Now it became capable of providing the complete set of engineering and logistics services for oversize and overweight equipment transportation and installation, as well as developing transportation projects and performing design, rigging, survey, administrative and customs works.

2008

Polinom LLC was created to provide a new type of services — designing facilities for oil and gas industry. Another company — NGES Engineering Ltd. was created with the purpose of supplying oil and gas enterprises with equipment and materials.
